BlackBerry’s water-resistant Android smartphone launched in South Africa

The Blackberry Motion is now available in South Africa.

TCL, the smartphone manufacturer which owns the rights to build Blackberry devices, said the BlackBerry Motion is available to purchase through Vodacom  from Cellucity .

The BlackBerry Motion is priced at:

  • R7,399 cash purchase.
  • From R399 per month on a 24-month contract.

Signature BlackBerry apps such as BlackBerry Hub, DTEK, and Calendar come pre-installed on the device, added the company.

The smartphone runs Android 7.1 and boasts a 4,000mAh battery, paired with a 5.5-inch Full HD touch display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor.

The BlackBerry Motion also sports a 12MP rear camera, 32GB of internal storage, and a USB Type-C port.

The device is the first BlackBerry smartphone to offer IP67 water and dust resistance, and it has the largest battery ever in a BlackBerry – offering up to two days of usage.
