Apple TV 4K gets Dolby Atmos support

Apple has unveiled the new features coming to Apple TV at its WWDC 2018 conference in San Jose, California.

The company previewed its upcoming tvOS 12 operating system, which brings Dolby Atmos support to the Apple TV 4K.

This makes the Apple TV 4K the only streaming player to be both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos-certified.

Apple said iTunes currently offers customers the largest collection of 4K HDR movies, and will soon feature the largest collection of Dolby Atmos-supported movies.

It will also include a zero sign-in feature, which detects the user’s broadband network and automatically signs them in to all the supported apps they receive through their subscription.

New aerial screensavers for Apple TV are also included.

Apple has partnered with the International Space Station Lab and the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space to deliver 4K aerial shots taken from space to Apple TV customers.
